'Domino Courts' Plays at the WorkShop Theater March 20-29

Full cast and creative team has been announced for William Hauptman's Domino Courts, to be presented at the WorkShop Theater Mainstage March 20-29. The production, directed by Michael Mislove, will open officially on March 20.

"Set in Oklahoma during the Great Depression, the play depicts the reunion of two formerly famous bank robbers and their wives at a rural cabin. Floyd went straight and married Ronnie, the waitress. Roy joined a northern mob. The reunion turns into an ugly confrontation as the realities of their lives are revealed," describe press notes.

The cast will feature Michele Ammon, Elizabeth Irene, Curtis Nielsen and Shade Vaughn. The design team will include Lara Fabian (sets), Evan Purcell (lighting), and Arnulfo Maldonado (costumes). Angie Valentine is the Stage Manager.

William Hauptman was born in Texas and attended the University of Texas and the Yale School of Drama. His plays include Heat, Domino Courts (Distinguished Playwrighting/Obie Award in 1978) and Gillette (LA Drama-Logue Award). For Big River (with a score by Roger Miller), he won a 1985 Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical. His fiction has appeared in The Best American Short Stories anthology, The Atlantic Monthly, Southwest Review, and Playboy Magazine.

Michael Mislove, director, is a producing partner at Keylight Entertainment (Films: "Finding Neverland", "Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day"). His theater directing credits include: Second Chance by Tony Sportiello (42nd Street WorkShop); Eric Larue by Brett Neveu (42nd Street WorkShop); The Encounter by Fred Pezzulli (42nd Street Workshop Theater); Now About Eve by various authors (Matrix Theater/LA).
