DIARY OF A WORM to Play BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, 2/22

By:

BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, the longest operating performance venue in lower Manhattan, proudly presents Diary of a Worm, a Spider, and a Fly performing on Saturday, February 22 at 1:30PM. Diary of a Worm... is a part of BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center's 2013-2014 Family Theater Season, featuring plays, musicals, puppetry, concerts and dance for all ages.

It's not easy being a bug, especially on the first day of school! But luckily for Worrying Worm, Fearless Fly, and Sassy Spider, every creature finds its special talent in Diary of a Worm, a Spider, and a Fly. Spider waits anxiously to shed his skin; Worm feels self-conscious and embarrassed for having no legs, and Fly's 327 brothers and sisters drive her so crazy that she can hardly focus on schoolwork. Based on the bestselling books by Doreen Cronin, this hysterical rock-n-roll romp will have the whole family cheering on the quirky crawlers as they face problems and milestones common to us all. An Omaha Theater Company production. Ages 4 to 10.

"The books by Doreen Cronin (who also wrote the Caldecott-winning book Click Clack Moo: Cows That Type) have great, clever illustrations by Harry Bliss, which represent the limitations that the characters face being quirky little bugs," said acclaimed New York City Director Rob Urbinati. "Our choreographer, Sue Gillespie Booton, has teamed up with musical director Jerry Brabec to bring that visual humor to the stage in a way that kids can relate to."

Tickets are $25 ($15 for 10Club Members). To purchase tickets or a 10Club Membership, call Ticketing Services at (212) 220-1460.
