Casting Announced For New York Theatre Barn's ANNE OF GREEN GABLES And A STORY NO ONE KNOWS

The eleventh season of New York Theatre Barn's New Works Series continues on Monday, April 16, 2018 with pre-premieres of two new musicals: Anne of Green Gables and A Story No One Knows.

The new musical version of Anne of Green Gables, with book, music, and lyrics by Matte O'Brien and Matt Vinson, is the classic story with a contemporary twist. Based on the famous novel by Lucy M. Montgomery, which has sold over 50 million copies and been translated into 36 languages, Anne of Green Gables has an eclectic score that blends folk-rock, pop, gospel, and contemporary musical theatre styles. The show grapples with the bittersweet trials of adolescence, family, beauty, and what it means to truly belong. Presented in association with Justin Nichols, the presentation will have new orchestrations by Justin Goldner, and the cast includes Carly Augenstein, Jodi Bluestein, Cam Cote, Hannah Corneau (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), Dez Duron (TV's The Voice), Paul Ianniello, Kristin Kelleher, Erin Kukla, Erin Long, Kenny Metzger, Christian Noojin, Jenna Tasha Rubaii (Groundhog Day), Dillan Smith, Avery Sobczak, David Socolar, Angela Travino, Michelle Veintimilla (The Visit), Madison Wyatt, and Bridget Yingling.

The new musical A Story No One Knows has book and music by Hyeyoung Kim and lyrics by Shoshana Greenberg. When you live alone and die alone in the city, what do you leave behind A Story No One Knows is a dark romantic comedy that examines the humanity of people in their final moments on Earth, as seen through the eyes of those who come to clean up the mess of living. The presentation is directed by Devanand Janki (Zanna, Don't!), and the cast includes Andrew Berlin (A Christmas Story), Glenn DeVar, Josh Hobbs (Rock of Ages), Vishal Vaidya (Groundhog Day), Anne Wechsler (The Brontës), Willis White (In the Heights), and Remy Zaken (Dear Evan Hansen). Greenberg and Kim's musical Days of Rage was featured in New York Theatre Barn's New Works Series and Choreography Lab.

Casting is by Eisenberg/Beans Casting (Daryl Eisenberg, CSA; Ally Beans, CSA).

The April 16 installment includes presentations of both new musicals at 7PM and 9PM at The Cell, located at 338 West 23rd Street in New York City. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door, and can be purchased on New York Theatre Barn's website: www.nytheatrebarn.org.
