Cast Set for The Seeing Place's Haunting Rep of THE PILLOWMAN and GIDION'S KNOT

By:
The Seeing Place Theater, known for intense & intimate ensemble work, announced casting for a once in a lifetime theatrical pairing with a great potential to provoke social change: Martin McDonagh's brutal, Olivier Award winning, THE PILLOWMAN with Johnna Adams' gripping two-hander, GIDION'S KNOT. With an organic presentation style emphasizing the edgy, American style of acting developed by the Group Theatre, The Seeing Place puts a contemporary spin on classic works by master playwrights, with ticket prices that anyone can afford.

THE PILLOWMAN stars Brandon Walker (Hamlet, NYIT nominee for Danny and the Deep Blue Sea) as Katurian, John D'Arcangelo (The Laramie Project, Boy Gets Girl) as Detective Tupolski, Logan Keeler (Two Rooms, Boys' Life) as Detective Ariel, Daniel Michael Perez (Othello, Boy Gets Girl) as Michal, with Charles Baran, Olivia Baseman (Boys' Life, "The Wrestler") and Brisa Freitas (Othello, Boys' Life) as Storytellers. Understudying are Autumn Mirassou and Dan Thorp. Lights are designed by Duane Pagano. Projections and Stage Management by Mark Fingerhut. The production is co-directed by Erin Cronican and Brandon Walker.

GIDION'S KNOT stars Erin Cronican (Boy Gets Girl, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, "Veronica Mars") as Corryn Fell and Susan Izatt as Heather Clark. Understudying is Natalie Neckyfarow (Boys' Life.) Lights are designed by Duane Pagano. Assistant Direction and Stage Management by Candice Oden (Boys' Life, Othello). The production is directed by Brandon Walker.

THE PILLOWMAN and GIDION'S KNOT appear as a strictly limited engagement, opening December 4 and playing on a rotating schedule seven days a week through December 20. Tickets are just $15 and can be purchased at www.seeingplacetheater.com. All performances will be held at The Seeing Place @ The Clarion Theater, 309 East 26th St (just east of 2nd Avenue.)

Now completing its 6th Season, The Seeing Place is an actor-driven company: built by actors and managed by actors to be a base for actors who want to grow & hone their craft in a creative and supportive artistic home. From the theater: "We are forcefully committed to four elements of theatre-making: developing actors into thriving self-producers; honoring the craft of the actor's process through rehearsal and into performance; bringing organic, 'fully lived' storytelling to our community; and making theater accessible for all New Yorkers by keeping ticket prices low and affordable."

The Seeing Place's 6th Season began with its pulsing, modern production of OTHELLO (William Shakespeare,) and continued this summer with BOYS' LIFE (Howard Korder) running in repertory with BOY GETS GIRL (Rebecca Gilman.) THE PILLOWMAN and GIDION'S KNOT conclude this critically acclaimed season.
