By: BWW News Desk
Queens Theatre (QT) presents ArtsPower's THE LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD EARNS HER WHISTLE. Adapted for the stage by playwright and lyricist Greg Gunning and composer Richard DeRosa, it's a story about finding strength from within and always believing that anything is possible, a theme that can always be found in these beloved books. THE LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD EARNS HER WHISTLE will be at Queens Theatre (14 United Nations Avenue South, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens, NY 11368) on November 24th at 1pm and 3pm.
"I Think I Can, I Think I Can" are words that joyfully resonate in the hearts of children everywhere. ArtsPower's The Little Engine That Could Earns Her Whistle tells the uplifting story of an ordinary train that performs an extraordinary feat of strength and courage. We follow the adventures of The Little Blue Engine, who dreams of someday pulling the Piney Vale Express just like her best friend Rusty. To most of the other engines, the Little Blue Engine seems too small to make it up the big hill. She starts to doubt herself, wondering if she will ever be a real engine of the railroad. But when the fate of the Piney Vale Express suddenly depends on The Little Blue Engine, she finds out just how much she can accomplish with a little self-confidence. In the musical's stirring conclusion, she conquers the hill and can finally exclaim, "I knew I could!".Pictured: Nova Jimenez (Little Blue Engine) and Jenn Kelly (Little Red Engine)
