Tickets On Sale Now For The World Premiere Of BAD ASS BEAUTY: THE ROCK OPERA at The 2018 New York Musical Festival

New York Musical Festival (NYMF) and Stefanie Seskin present Bad Ass Beauty: The Rock Opera. Performances will take place from July 11th through 15th at The Acorn Theare, located at 410 W. 42nd Street, New York, NY. Official Opening is set for Wednesday, July 11th at 8:00 pm.

Bad Ass Beauty: The Rock Opera is a female-led comedic hard rock opera portraying the personal story of a strong, independent woman who struggles with and reflects upon the balance between the artistic fire that burns with important contemporary issues like childhood trauma, failed relationships, co-dependency, mental illness, substance abuse, female exploitation (#metoo), personal and professional compromise, and ultimately how the power of music can make the parts whole and heal one's soul. The musical contains adult themes and mature content and language.

Bad Ass Beauty stars powerhouse vocalist LaQuinta Prince as the "Alpha Female," complete with her alter egos," Bad Ass," played by Stefanie Seskin, and "Beauty," played by Tzena Nicole. They are backed up by the "Caliope Singers," Pam West and Laura MacLean. Members of the band include Broadway and Off-Broadway veterans Jeff Ganz as "Wiksic" on bass guitar, Jon Berger as "Pulse" on drums, and guitarist Peter Douskalis as "Kake." This story (with some embellishment) is influenced by LaQuinta's life story and the life of other women in the music business, including the experiences of producer and book writer Stefanie Seskin.

Bad Ass Beauty: The Rock Opera is written by Stefanie Seskin, a veteran of the independent music world. LaQuinta Prince wrote the lyrics, with additional lyrics provided by Seskin. LaQuinta Prince and Anthony Gemignani wrote the music. The musical is directed by Bekka Lindström.
