Roundabout Announces Lynne Gugenheim Gregory as Director of Development

Roundabout Theatre Company (Julia C. Levy, Executive Director) is pleased to announce that Lynne Gugenheim Gregory will join the company on July 1st, 2010 as Director of Development.

Lynne Gugenheim Gregory has over 20-years of experience including the last seven years at the 92nd Street Y as Development Director. Under her leadership, the Development Department raised increasingly more support each year, culminating in 30% more in contributed income than before she joined the organization. In addition, many capital projects were supported through increased government and foundation funds, including spearheading the first ever federal appropriation in support of their work. The Annual Spring Gala now consistently raises more than twice the revenue than before her tenure and corporate sponsorship and underwriting has increased significantly.

Prior to the 92nd Street Y, Ms. Gugenheim Gregory was a fundraising consultant. For eight years, she ran Gregory Communications, an independent consulting practice specializing in nonprofit performing arts strategic planning, traditional fundraising and corporate sponsorship. Ms. Gugenheim Gregory also worked in fundraising as a Director of Development at Los Angeles Theatre Center, Playwrights Horizons, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and the Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York (ART/NY) and spent several years in public broadcasting at KCET/Los Angeles.

In addition to her recent accomplishments at the 92nd Street Y, Ms. Gugenheim Gregory's significant fundraising achievements include raising $200,000 from the Mellon Foundation for the Theatre Development Fund in New York to compensate for losses sustained at the TKTS subsequent to 9/11; Raising the single largest corporate grant ever for a young children's public television series -- $3.5 million for The Puzzle Place and raising over $1 million in corporate sponsorship to launch new PRI distributed weekly public radio series "Satellite Sisters" produced by WNYC Radio in New York.

Roundabout Theatre Company's 2009-2010 season includes Sherie Rene Scott & Dick Scanlan's Everyday Rapture, starring Sherie Rene Scott, directed by Michael Mayer. Roundabout's sold out production of The 39 Steps made its third transfer to the New World Stages after a successful Broadway run at three Broadway theatres.

Roundabout Theatre Company's 2010-2011 season features George Bernard Shaw's Mrs. Warren's Profession starring Cherry Jones, directed by Doug Hughes; Noël Coward's Brief Encounter, adapted and directed by Emma Rice; Kim Rosenstock's Tigers Be Still, directed by Sam Gold; Julia Cho's The Language Archive, directed by Mark Brokaw; Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, starring and directed by Brian Bedford; Tennessee Williams' The Milk Train Doesn't Stop Here Anymore starring Olympia Dukakis, directed by Michael Wilson; Anything Goes starring Sutton Foster, directed & choreographed by Kathleen Marshall.
