RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF I'M A DOG Featured in Inaugural ManiFestival NYC
The production will play July 21 at Paradise Factory Theatre in New York City.
This summer, the NYC theater circuit will gain a new addition with the inaugural Diamond Mesh ManiFestival, running July 16 through August 9 at the Paradise Factory Theatre. Diamond Mesh Incorporated – Theatrical Productions has announced that Atlas Kazan's RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF I'M A DOG will be featured as part of the festival's curated slate. The production will be directed by Luci Thomas.
The ManiFestival centers on questions surrounding isolation, legacy, addiction, and the search for the “Next Great American Drama,” presenting a lineup of new works intended to challenge audiences and expand theatrical conversation.
In RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF I'M A DOG, Kazan places classical philosophers at the center of a comic intellectual clash. Plato, determined to maintain his reputation as the esteemed student of Socrates and a foundational figure of Western philosophy, finds himself continually undermined by Diogenes, who attempts to expose what he sees as the emptiness of lofty ideals. As Aristotle and Alexander observe the escalating conflict, the play examines competing ideas of virtue, meaning, and the purpose of philosophy itself.
The featured performance of RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF I'M A DOG will take place July 21 at 7:45 p.m. at Paradise Factory Theatre in New York City.
The Diamond Mesh ManiFestival is launching as a new theatrical platform focused on presenting provocative and unconventional work for contemporary New York audiences.
