The Off-Broadway show, Liberty: A Monumental New Musical, which opened on July 4, will end its current run on July 24 and plans to resume performances this fall.

Liberty: A Monumental New Musical, is adapted from original material by Dana Leslie Goldstein, Jon Goldstein and Robert Bruce McIntosh, features a book and lyrics by Dana Leslie Goldstein with music by Jon Goldstein, directed by Evan Pappas with musical direction by Jeffrey Lodin

"We are so proud of our cast and crew for bringing Liberty to life and look forward to resuming performances this fall. As the NY Times said in its review "Liberty evokes an America some are still waiting to for," said Liberty producer Theresa Wozunk.

Based on true events, Liberty is a fast-paced, entertaining 80-minute musical about the arrival of the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor in 1884. Coming to the United States in the middle of a national immigration debate and a terrible recession, political forces are aligning to deport her. With a strong resolve and a mighty spirit, she battles to gain acceptance and eventually becomes the enduring symbol of our country.

Liberty, A Monumental New Musical began performances on June 6 and played 16 previews and 24 regular performances and garnered good critical and audience reviews. Liberty: A Monumental New Musical will continue it run 42West (514 West 42nd) through July 24 playing Sunday at 2 & 5pm; Monday & Wednesday at 3pm & 7pm & Thursday at 12pm at 3pm.

The Liberty cast includes: Abigail Shapiro (How the Grinch Stole Christmas) as Liberty are Mark Aldrich (Broadway: Newsies, Ragtime), Brandon Andrus (Broadway: Side Show); Nick DeVito (Regional: Baby), Ryan Duncan (Broadway: Shrek), C. Mingo Long (Broadway Encores: South Pacific, Purlie),Vincent McCoy (Tours: Magic Tree House: The Musical), Keaton Micucci, Tyrone L. Robinson (National Tours: The Lion King, Book Of Mormon), Emma Rosenthal (Regional: Candide, Brigadoon), Tina Stafford (National Tour: Once, The Musical). Creative team includes: Jamie Roderick (Lighting Design), Deborah Hobson (Costume Design), Michael Cassara, CSA (Casting), Cherie B. Tay (Production Stage Manager), Form Theatricals, Anthony Francavilla and Zachary Laks (General Management). Producers include Theresa Wozunk, MMW Productions, Erik Stangvik, and Tim Harper.
