Producer Theresa Wozunk announced today that LIBERTY: A MONUMENTAL NEW MUSICAL will join New York City in celebration of Immigrant Heritage Week with three special presentations April 16 and 17, 2010. Presentations of the new musical will take place at NYC's New 42nd Street Studios (229 West 42nd Street) on Friday, April 16 at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm and on Saturday, April 17 at 2:00 pm.

LIBERTY: A MONUMENTAL NEW MUSICAL, featuring a book and lyrics by Dana Leslie Goldstein, music by Jon Goldstein, tells the story of a beautiful, French immigrant who arrives in New York Harbor in 1884. The powerful new musical follows the statuesque immigrant's struggle, strife and success in the ever-evolving country she's come to symbolize. Director Igor Goldin (Yank!) helms the creative team which also includes Musical Direction and Vocal Arrangements by Jeffrey Lodin, Choreography by Jeffry Denman and Orchestrations by Bryan Crook.

Wicked's Dee Roscioli will lead the cast of LIBERTY: A MONUMENTAL NEW MUSICAL which also includes Mark Aldrich (Ragtime) as "Bartholdi, O'Dublin & Pulitzer" Ryan Duncan (Shrek) as "James Goodleaf," Suzanne Grodner (Bye Bye Birdie) as "Moscowitz," Lewis Grosso as "Giovanni," Leah Horowitz (White Christmas) as "Emma Lazarus," C. Mingo Long (Les Miserables) as "Samuel Ferguson," Beth McVey (Beauty and the Beast) as "Regina Schuyler" and Adam Monley (Mamma Mia!) as "Walker."

LIBERTY: A MONUMENTAL NEW MUSICAL features Scenic Designs by Josh Zangen, Costume Designs by Olivera Gajic, Lighting Design by Paul Miller and Projection Designs by Austin Switser.

Declared an official annual celebration by Mayor Bloomberg, Immigrant Heritage Week honors the experiences and contributions of the millions of immigrants that have shaped New York City for generations. It celebrates our shared immigrant histories, cultures and cuisine. Established by Mayor Bloomberg in 2004, Immigrant Heritage Week will be celebrated April 15 - 21, 2010 with a rich collection of over 180 free or low cost community events and cultural activities in all five boroughs.
