The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, New York's premiere eco-friendly theatre festival, is currently accepting submissions for its 2010 season. The festivity accepts all topics and subject matters including but not limited to: new works, musicals, adaptations, one-acts, and solo shows. For details and an application please visit www.planetconnectionsfestivity.com. The deadline is January 15th. This year?s festivity will run June 3 - June 27, 2010 at Robert Moss Theater (440 Lafayette Street), The Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street) and Bleecker Street Theater (45 Bleecker Street).

The Festivity is designed to promote awareness in the theatrical community about social and cultural issues, inspiring artists to become involved in their community beyond the stage. Live theater can ignite social change, as the festival found in its first year, June 2009. Audiences can view the world from a new perspective, exploring the unique connection of humanity.

Fostering relationships and allowing talented playwrights, actors, designers and directors to find new audiences and partner with new teams are more great opportunities of the festivity. In the challenging climate of today?s economy, coupled with the difficult New York producing scene, a supportive network is imperative to the process. Doing theatre in a festive environment allows everyone involved enjoy what they are doing passing that enthusiasm on to the audiences.

Executive Director, Glory Bowen, is ?thrilled to have so many artists interested in returning to the festivity this year and intrigued with what the new artists will bring to the table. I eagerly anticipate this June when I, along with our audiences, get to see what everyone creates both on stage and off, from musicals to dramas to exhilarating debates and opening parties in the lounge. I'm proud of the work our artists have done in our community both with the eco-friendly efforts and partnering to promote local charitable organizations, such as, City Harvest and City Critters."

The festival has been written up in the NY Times, Clyde Fitch Report, and recently Broadway World. Last year's productions received favorable reviews from Backstage, nytheatre.com, Broadway World, Fab Marquee and more.
