The Triad Theatre presents the World Premiere of GOING THROUGH A STAGE: Broadway's Best Sing the Songs of Charles Bloom, a musical journey exploring the quirks, longings and joys we face while going through the stages of our lives, at The Triad Theatre, 158 W. 72nd Street, 2nd floor, NYC on Mondays, May 18 & 25, 2009 at 7pm. Charles Bloom is originally from Los Angeles and was born to the late screenwriter Harold Jack Bloom and the late actress Carolyn Kearney. He studied Music Composition and Psychology at NYU. The long list of artists to perform/record songs from his catalogue includes: Michael Feinstein, Christine Ebersole, B.D. Wong, Cheyenne Jackson, Andrea Marcovicci, Alix Korey, Bruce Vilanch, Barbara Walsh, Vicki Lewis, Aaron Lazar, Matt Castle, Julie Reyburn and Richard Todd Adams. For the theatre he has written the book, music and lyrics to Pablo, Insomnia, Heaven Knows, and the scores to Character Breakdown (book by Douglas MacEwan) and Frank and Phyllis, A 12-Minute, Mini Musical (book by Damian Madden). Pablo received a concert reading by the West Coast Musical Theatre Alliance at LATC. I Prefer to Dream, a revue of some of his work, (directed by Andrew Glant-Linden), was presented at The Triad Theatre, NYC. Charles has contributed special material to countless cabaret acts and many charitable causes in the US and abroad. His songs comprised an edition of the Australian musical theatre radio show, BROADWAY AT BEDTIME hosted by Will Conyers. In the summer of 2009, Mr. Conyers is slated to do a series of concerts of his work in Melbourne titled A Way with Words: Will Conyers sings the Music & Lyrics of Charles Bloom.

Donald Brenner (SSDC) directed the Off-Broadway production of Emmy Award Winner Sherman Yellen's December Fools at Abingdon Theatre Company and A Tale of Two Cities at the Mint Theatre Company. He directed the Lincoln Center production of Ali Baba, an original adaptation utilizing middle-eastern musicians, dance and storytelling and the world premiere of Beyond Gravity by Ruth Wolff at New Jersey Repertory Company. As Associate Resident Director for the LArk Theatre Company, he directed David Rambo's Rhinebeck and House, Bridge, Fountain, Gate by Sundance Theatre Lab Founding Artistic Director David Kranes. At the York Theatre, he directed Charles Bloom's Insomnia with Eddie Korbich and Island with Ann Crumb and Terry Burrell. His over seventy regional theater directing credits include Jeffrey Hatcher's Wilde Goes West for the Pioneer Theatre Olympic Play Commission Project in Salt Lake City and The Gymat the Berkshire Theatre Festival. Other regional credits include Philadelphia, Here I Come!, Corpse!, The Matchmaker, Riders to the Sea and Our Town. His production of 1776 was named one of the "Top San DieGo Productions of the Year" by PBS and earned him a "Best Direction of a Musical" Robby Award Nomination.

Michael Lavine has worked as a musical director, pianist and singer all over the world. In New York, Michael produced a series of concerts saluting Hollywood performers such as Dick Powell, Alice Faye, Fred Astaire, and Gene Kelly. He musically directed an all-star tribute to the early works of Frederick Loewe off-Broadway and has conducted orchestras in Wichita, Kansas, Traverse City, Michigan, and Beverly, Mass., among many other cities. He co-produced the American premiere recording of HONK!, which he has musically directed twice. For those at The New York Sheet Music Society, Michael is primarily known for owning one of the largest privately held sheet music collections in the world.

The work of Charles Bloom is also being presented on May 17, 2009 at 8:30pm at The Et Cetera Theatrein London, England. The Delphi Theatre Company presents The Songbook Revue, a cabaret evening of new American musical theatre performed by the cream of London's up-and-coming talent with brand new songs by Broadway's finest new composers, including Charles Bloom and Jeff Blumenkrantz, among others. The Songbook Revue features Josh Boyd-Rochford, Jonas Christensen, Adi Konfino, Cristin Curtin and Holly Vernon-Harcourt accompanied by musicians from the Royal College of Music. Produced by Delphi Theatre Company, directed by Emily Jenkins, with musical direction by Solfa Carlile.
