59E59 Theaters will present the NYC premiere of A REGULAR LITTLE HOUDINI, written and performed by Daniel Llewelyn-Williams and directed by Joshua Richards.

Produced by Flying Bridge Theatre Limited, A REGULAR LITTLE HOUDINI begins performances on Tuesday, December 12 for a limited engagement through Sunday, December 31. Press Opening is Sunday, December 17 at 3:30 PM.

Set in Newport, South Wales, a tenacious young dockworker's son, smitten by Harry Houdini'samazements, dreams of a life of magic to escape the brutal Welsh working-class reality of Edwardian Britain. Is it possible to follow one's dreams in a world where poverty weighs you down like mud?

This enchanting story - called "a breathless yarn" by The Stage - is an extraordinary tale of hope, determination, and magic.

A REGULAR LITTLE HOUDINI features magic tricks created specifically for the show by two top magicians: quick-change magician Adrian Solar and sleight-of-hand artist Tom Silburn. The original music is composed by Meg Cox.

The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 PM, Friday at 8:30 PM; Saturday at 2:30 PM and 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 PM. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Single tickets are $25 ($20 for 59E59 Members). Daniel Llewelyn-Williams (playwright/performer) is from Newport and trained at LAMDA. He is an Associate member of the company at Theatr Clwyd and Theatr Ardudwy. Theater credits include: A Regular Little Houdini (Flying Bridge; International Tour); Richard Hannay in The 39 Steps (West End); Hamlet (dir. He is the founder of Flying Bridge Theatre Limited and together with Tim Baker is co artistic director. They are producing the international tour of Not About Heroes and The Eyes of the Day - A Chartist's Story, a new musical created by Flying Bridge set during the Chartist uprising of 1839. Daniel won both the Lilian Baylis award, and the Philip Sayer Award while at LAMDA. He won the "Best Performance in the English Language" at the Wales Theatre Awards 2015 for his portrayal of Siegfried Sassoon in Not About About Heroes for Theatr Clwyd. While touring A Regular Little Houdini extensively around the world, Daniel and his show have won many awards including: the Artistic Excellence award, the Best Actor award, and the Producers Encore award all at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2016 and the Best Solo Show award at the San Diego Fringe 2016.

Joshua Richards (director) is an associate actor of the RSC. He recently appeared in Richard II with David Tennant, playing Bardolph in Henry IV pts I & II with Sir Anthony Sher, and Henry V, all for the RSC. Theatre includes: The Winslow Boy, Roots, Mary Stuart, Macbeth, Troilus & Cressida and The Taming of the Shrew (Clwyd Theatr Cymru); Anjin-The English Samurai (Horipro Ltd Tokyo, Osaka and Sadler's Wells); The Miller in The Canterbury Tales (Spain, Washington DC and West End); As You Like It and Hamlet (RSC); Edward III, Eastward Ho!, The Roman Actor (for the RSC's Olivier Award winning Jacobean Season). 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Sold and Fly Me to the Moon (Hull Truck); Brighton Rock (Almeida); Buzz Adams (West End and South Pacific tour). Josh created the role of Frankie Mitchell in Jump to Cow Heaven, a Fringe First and Best of the Fest winner that transferred to London's Riverside Studios, before playing Buckingham in Richard III, Knight in The Passion and Sir Toby Belch in Twelfth Night for Barrie Rutter's Northern Broadsides. He has achieved international critical acclaim for his portrayal of Richard Burton in his one-man show Playing Burton, soon to be released as a feature film. He has also devised, designed, produced and directed the Fringe First Award-winner Rosebud-The Lives of Orson Welles (Edinburgh 2004 and 2007; Brits Off Broadway at 59E59). Television includes: Reasonable Force, New World, The Vision, A Perfect Spy, A Mind to Kill, Bowen a'i Bartner, Trial & Retribution, The New Adventures of Robin Hood, Mind Games, Heartbeat, and as the Narrator for BBC Wales' Mountain series. Film credits include: Rancid Aluminium, Very Annie Mary, Dr. Sleep, Troy, Devil's Bridge, Panic Button and The Darkest Day.
