VOCES8 & Pétur Sakari at Trefoldighetskirken

The British ensemble VOCES8 -- one of the world's most acclaimed vocal groups -- first time in Oslo together with virtuoso organist Pétur Sakari. Their previous concerts in Reykjavik, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki were sold out and became a sensation in the nordic music scene. The concert at Trefoldighetskirken in Oslo is part of their Christmas tour through the most significant cathedrals of the Nordic countries. Pétur Sakari serves as the ensemble's trusted organist, and his international virtuosity combined with exceptional sensitivity perfectly complements VOCES8's remarkably unified sound. The programme takes the listener from the British Christmas tradition to gems of the Renaissance and Baroque eras, through Romantic works and moving contemporary compositions. The monumental architecture and exceptional acoustics of Trefoldighetskirken create a uniquely atmospheric and timeless setting for the concert. The result is a blend of warmth, brilliance, and reverence --- a Christmas concert of the highest international standard in one of Oslo's most beautiful churches.
