Kaizer’s Orchestra as theatre on the Opera stage. Sonny is a Baroque, burlesque, grandiose production about life’s great questions: friendship, treachery, war, love and death. It is based on the celebrated music and the colourful personalities made famous by Kaizer’s Orchestra. The successful author Tore Renberg (Mannen som elsket Yngve, Kompani Orheim) has thumbed through the band’s well-stocked catalogue and found a red thread running through their universe.

Kaizer’s Orchestra stormed onto the Norwegian music scene in autumn 2001, and their debut album Ompa til du dør introduced a delightfully crazy and shamelessly exhibitionist orchestra quite unheard of in Norway. Sonny’s world premiere is at Rogaland Theatre on 11 November 2011.
