THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO Will Come to Den Norske Opera in May
Performances will run May 15 through September 6.
A new production of The Marriage of Figaro is set to take the stage this spring and summer at Den Norske Opera. Running from May 15 through September 6 on the Main Stage, the production brings Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s comedy to life.
The story follows Susanna and Figaro as they prepare for their wedding while dealing with interference from their employer, the Count. The opera explores themes of relationships, power, and generational dynamics.
This production is directed by Matthew Wild and conducted by Ottavio Dantone. The staging emphasizes generational conflict and features a young ensemble cast.
The opera is performed in Italian with English and Norwegian subtitles. A free introductory talk in Norwegian is offered one hour before each performance.
Tickets range from 150 to 990 kroner. Some performances are sold out, while others have limited availability. Performances are scheduled throughout May, June, August, and early September, with the final performance on September 6.
Audience members can pre-order intermission refreshments. Food and drinks are not permitted inside the auditorium during the performance.
