Let The Music Dance at Capital One Hall

The Washington Balalaika Orchestra is pleased to present a program featuring solos performed by our own musicians on balalaika, bayan, prima domra, bass domra, flute, oboe, and clarinet. We also welcome to our stage, for the first time, a bandura! Our 55-person orchestra will play a number of well-known pieces from a variety of composers, genres and time periods, as well as some that may be less familiar to our audience. From “Dance Macabre” to “Hungarian Rhapsody,” music from “Swan Lake” to that 1967 pop song “Love is Blue,” Tchaikovsky to Gershwin, and waltzes to klezmer, audience members are guaranteed to emerge humming some very familiar tunes. And they may acquire some new favorites as well!
