Wolf Trap Unveils 54 New Shows for Summer 2010
Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts announces 54 new shows for summer 2010, representing the second of four performance installments featuring artists spanning a multitude of genres from rock, pop, opera, symphony, R&B, reggae, blues, and folk. Wolf Trap is continuing its new 2010 initiative of announcing shows as they are booked throughout the winter and spring months in order to give Wolf Trap patrons, members, and prospective members advanced access to their favorite summer performers. Premium in-house seats will be made available to all Wolf Trap members at the Curtain-Raiser level ($150 yearly contribution) and above starting today, well in advance of the March 13 general public on-sale. In the meantime, all non-members can plan their summer-concert calendars months in advance, helping to generate excitement in the metro area music-lover community.
As part of today's announcement, Wolf Trap is proud to feature five 2010 Grammy award-winning artists who will entertain under the stars at the 7,100 seat outdoor Filene Center amphitheater. Jeff Beck, Levon Helm, Béla Fleck, Chick Corea, and Colbie Caillat enjoyed a highly successful 2009, and are poised to transfer that momentum over to 2010. On the topic of Grammy's, the Grammy nominated Wolf Trap Opera Company will announce three new productions at The Barns at Wolf Trap-Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Rossini's The Turk in Italy, and Mozart's Zaide.Wolf Trap Debuts:Boasting several debut performances in the second installment of the rollout, with additional acts to come in subsequent March and April announcements, Wolf Trap welcomes The Go-Go's for the first and last time as they say goodbye to longtime fans during their Farewell Tour.
