Washington's favorite comedians, The Capitol Steps, will return to McLean's Alden Theatre for their annual showing at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13 and at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14.
Tickets are $45, $35 for McLean tax district residents. Friday evening's performance will be followed by a free reception for ticket holders sponsored by the Friends of the McLean Community Center.
The Capitol Steps began in 1981, when a group of Senate staffers set out to satirize the very institutions and individuals that employed them. Over the years, the troupe's performers have worked in a total of 18 congressional offices and represent 62 years of collective House and Senate staff experience. With 30 albums, including "Desperate Housemembers," "Barackin' Around the Christmas Tree" and "Obama Mia!," they group has been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC and PBS. They can be heard four times a year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their "Politics Takes a Holiday" radio specials.
Tickets are on sale now. Discounts are available to seniors, students, MCC tax district residents and groups of eight or more. Tickets can be purchased online at www.aldentheatre.org.
