Swift Creek Mill Theatre presents Featured Artist Virginia Hickey

Swift Creek Mill Theatre is pleased to present Virginia Hickey as our Featured Artist during the production of All My Sons running January 20th through February 24th, 2018. All are welcome to enjoy Virginia's work in The Mill Room during dinner/lunch or during intermission of each performance.

Virginia's Artist Story ~

Virginia Hickey is a newly retired owner of a flourishing business, Tonda Enterprises, and has always been an artist. Her art education began in high school and when her portfolio had gotten her accepted to Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. Virginia always says, 'she would have been in the same class with Calvin Klein' but instead went to Eastern Michigan University. Virginia Hickey paints in oil, watercolors and porcelain that feature portraits, flowers and landscape. She is a member of the World of China Painters, the Virginia Watercolor Society, Portrait Society of America, Virginia Organization of China Painters and Bon Air Artists. She has taken blue ribbons at the State Fair of Virginia and won first prize for an oil portrait in a juried art show at Women's Health Virginia. Her greatest joy in portrait painting is capturing the essence of a person and seeing the joy when it is viewed. Virginia currently has work in the Lemon Tree Gallery in Cape Charles, Virginia and For Art's Sake Gallery in Henrico County

Swift Creek Mill Theatre has been a Richmond and Tri-Cities institution for 50 years. We've come a long way since three local families took a 353-year-old gristmill and turned it into an intimate space for the production of so many splendid theatrical experiences. Five decades and more than 340 productions later, the Mill is still going strong in its historic location.

The theatre operates year-round and accommodates 220 people. We currently produce six mainstage shows and five youth theatre productions each year, including world-premiere musicals and one-of-a-kind children's shows developed and written in-house. The playhouse also hosts a youth summer theatre camp.
