Pride Night at Synetic Theater Set for 6/10

By: Jun. 02, 2015

Synetic Theater will host a Pride Night in partnership with Freddie's Beach Bar at 555 23RD St. in Crystal City. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a pre-show reception and will continue at Synetic Theater with the 8 p.m. performance of Everett Quinton's Obie Award-Winning play A Tale of Two Cities, directed by Serge Seiden and starring Company Member Alex Mills.

Tickets are $25 with the code "Pride" and can be purchased at www.synetictheater.org.

Called "always fascinating" by The New York Times, A Tale of Two Cities is an irreverent comedy that tells the story of a drag queen named Jerry (Synetic Company Member Alex Mills) who finds a crying baby at his front door. To calm the child down, he enacts the entirety of Charles Dickens's A Tale of Two Cities - playing all the characters himself!

Location: Synetic Theater, Crystal City, VA - 1800 S. Bell St., Arlington, VA 22202

Regular Run: Wednesday - Saturday, 8:00 p.m.; Sunday, 2:00 p.m.

A Tale of Two Cities, based on the novel by Charles Dickens, was adapted and originally performed Off-Broadway by Everett Quinton. The production was the winner of the 1989 Obie Award for Best Performance and the 1992 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Actor.
