Morey B. Epstein Joins Synetic Theater as Development Director
This December Morey B. Epstein will join the Synetic Theater family after 24 years as the chief development officer at Washington DC's Studio Theatre. Synetic is most known for cutting-edge and visceral theatre productions and has won 92 Helen Hayes Award Nominations and 24 Awards in 12 years of its existence. Mr. Epstein will use his expertise and extensive knowledge to help fund Synetic's mission and programs. He will be responsible for organizing and directing all facets of fundraising activities.
"Morey's extensive experience with large campaigns and his intimate knowledge of the D.C. theatre community will be an incredible asset to Synetic," said Founding Artistic Director Paata Tsikurishvili. "We are thrilled to have Mr. Epstein create new fundraising initiatives to promote organizational sustainability and take Synetic Theater to the next level," added Chief Operating Officer Yulia Kriskovets.
In his previous position Mr. Epstein built Washington DC's Studio Theatre into a not-for-profit professional theatre of national and international renown. Through fund raising programs, community engagement, board development, and the cultivation of individual patrons as well as connections with businesses and government leaders, he raised the funds to create a landmark four-theatre performance and training complex.
Founded in 2001 by the husband and wife team of Paata and Irina Tsikurishvili, Synetic Theater is the region's premier contemporary theater, fusing dynamic art forms-drama, text, movement, acrobatics, dance, film, and original music-to create a unique and original whole. Synetic has received a total of 92 Helen Hayes Award nominations and 24 Awards for directing, choreography, acting, costume design, and resident play.
