Firehouse Theatre to Host BATTLE OF THE CORPORATE BANDS, 4/17

Firehouse Theatre presents the first annual BATTLE OF THE CORPORATE BANDS (BOCB) at The National on Sunday, April 17, 2016.

Corporate employees from Altira, Capital One Financial, Dominion Resources, The Martin Agency, and WestRock will fulfill their rock and roll dreams when they vie for the title of Best Corporate Band on Sunday, April 17th from 7pm to 9pm at The National.

The five competing bands are The Tobacco Beetles from Altria with George Adams (bass), Dame Billingsley (vocals), Jeff Cox (guitar), David Haller (guitar), Amy Henderson (guitar, harmonica), and Jessica Johnson (drums); Inur Wallet from Capital One Financial with Rodney Baker (drums), Ed Cacho (timbales, congas), Jerome Cann (keyboard), Adam Hall (guitar, vocals), John Hudak (guitar), and Matt Reis (bass); Class 5 from Dominion Resources with Murray Blake (keyboard, guitar, vocals), Josh Crump (guitar, vocals), Steven Foster (bass, vocals), Rob Green (drums), Virginia O'Meara (vocals, guitar, percussion); Pork Chop Revival from The Martin Agency with Alex McCullum (guitar), Bob Meagher (dobro/banjo), Mike Emmons (lap steel), Justin Harris (drums), Zach Hudgins (stand up bass), Zack Miller (mandolin), Jan Nichols (guitar); and Glass House from WestRock with Tony Fox (drums), Frank Hernandez (bass), Maddie Parrish (keyboard), Marybeth Ransdell (vocals, guitar), Lee Richmond (guitar), and Cedric Spratley (vocals, guitar, keyboard). A youth band from Mako Music School will also perform.

The BOCB Mistress of Ceremonies is Mix 98.1 Richmond's Kat Simons. Judges include Jamison Land aka Beefcake the Mighty, bass player in GWAR, and Beau Cribbs, host of RVA Tonight at the Coalition Theatre. Other surprise judges will join this duo. Bands will be judged on a variety of criteria including musicianship, teamwork, audience enthusiasm, song choice, rock starness, and how many of their corporate brothers and sisters have bought tickets. Dominion Resources is the lead corporate sponsor for the BOCB.

Support the community and be a part of Richmond history at the first annual Firehouse Theatre Battle of the Corporate Bands, Sunday April 17th at The National. The National is located at 708 E. Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23219. Doors open at 6pm and the battle begins at 7pm. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door for floor/standing; $75 VIP reserved seating in the first two rows of the balcony; $60 reserved seating for the third and fourth rows of the balcony; and $40 reserved seating for the rear balcony. All ticket proceeds benefit Firehouse Theatre.
