Doc Scantlin and His Imperial Palms Orchestra will perform at McLean's Alden Theatre at 8 p.m.,Saturday, Feb. 23. Tickets are $30, $20 for tax district residents. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.

For more than a decade, dapper Doc Scantlin has kept the 1920s, 30s and 40s alive for Washington, D.C. and other locales around the nation and the world. Doc's ensemble offers a memorable evening of musical entertainment, from the 1920s speakeasy numbers such as "Puttin' on the Ritz" and "The Charleston" through the romantic, elegant 1930s hits of Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and George Gershwin, to the wonderful swing era of Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and others. The band's performance is a recreation of the elegance, romance and well-mannered youthful exuberance of a time gone by, but never forgotten. "Doc's band knows and plays just about everything, but focuses on the works of such giants as Cab Calloway, George Gershwin and Irving Berlin." - The Washington Post.
