Feature: Say 'Hello!' to Richmond Actor Josh Marin as THE BOOK OF MORMON Arrives at The Altria Theater ImageWhen The Book of Mormon opens at the Altria Theater tomorrow, a face familiar to Richmond audiences will be among the members of its very talented ensemble. Josh Marin has had starring and co-starring roles in such critically-acclaimed productions as Virginia Repertory Theatre's THE COLOR PURPLE, SPRING AWAKENING, IN THE HEIGHTS and THE MUSIC MAN; Cadence Theatre's VIOLET; and Firehouse Theatre's WILD PARTY and THE ELABORATE ENTRANCE OF CHAD DEITY. The accomplished actor, who now lives in New York City, has fond memories of seeing Broadway tours at the Altria.

"I remember when the Altria Theater was called the Landmark, and I saw STOMP there," Marin said. "It was at that moment that I told myself, 'one way or another I am going to be on that stage in my hometown.'"

At 28 years old, Marin is excited to make The Book of Mormon his first national tour and says the experience has been unforgettable. He is thrilled to be able to perform in front of many friends, family and colleagues this week.

"It is surreal to be back in Richmond with a show of this magnitude and such acclaim," he says. "I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that this is actually happening!"

While the actor loves the comedy of the musical, he also says the show has a powerful message for everyone.

"It shows you how much we all have in common and demonstrates what the power of friendship can do for a community."

THE BOOK OF MORMON runs March 26 - 31 at the Altria Theater. Tickets for the show are available at Etix.com. Student Rush tickets are only $29 at the box office with a valid student ID. Get Student Rush tickets for Tuesday-Thursday performances in advance, or Friday-Sunday shows the day-of. Seating in advance will be in the Balcony while day-of show seating will be best available.

THE BOOK OF MORMON has very explicit language and graphic adult content and is not recommended for children.
