ALWAYS...PATSY CLINE Opens Virginia Stage Company's 40th Anniversary Season ImageOne of the most beloved productions in Virginia Stage Company history returns to kick off the historic 40th Season. Always...Patsy Cline, previously performed at the Wells Theatre during the Virginia Stage's Season 18, celebrates the life and music of one of country music's most iconic voices. Explore her unlikely friendship with a Houston housewife as they bond over a pot of strong coffee, some dear letters between friends, and the beautiful tunes of Cline herself. You'll go "Crazy" over 27 of her biggest hits.

Director Amy Jones returns to Virginia Stage after previously directing the Season 39 opening hit musical, Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash.

Sandia Ahlers makes her debut with Virginia Stage in her role as Patsy Cline.

Linda Edwards, returning to Virginia Stage after playing the role of Prudie in Pump Boys & Dinettes in 1993, plays the role of Louise Seger. Edwards is no stranger to the show, having played Patsy Cline in other productions.

Always... Patsy Cline has performances starting Wednesday, September 12 for three nights of previews with opening night on Saturday, September 15, and runs for three weeks, concluding September 30. Tickets range from $20 - $55 with special discounts for military, students, and groups.

Only two weeks left for memberships for the full season with prices ranging from $99 - $299. Titles for Virginia Stage Company's 40th Anniversary Season include the community-driven Our Town, Alison Bechdel's Tony Award-winning musical Fun Home, Pulitzer Prize-winning Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye, and more!

Interviews can be arranged with members of the cast, crew, creative team, or staff of Virginia Stage Company. All reviews are welcome, and tickets can be provided to anyone who wishes to see the production for these purposes.

Virginia Stage Company is Southeastern Virginia's leading theatre destination, serving an audience of over 70,000 annually, both at the Wells Theatre and throughout the community. Virginia Stage Company's mission is to "enrich, educate, and entertain the region by creating and producing theatrical art of the highest quality."
