A.R.T. Hosting General Auditions for World Premier of THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNEW IT By Jeanne Beckwith

The Actors' Repertory Theatre of Vermont is hosting general auditions for three roles (1F, 2M) ages 30-40s for a World Premier production of Jeanne Beckwith's play: THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNEW IT.

Rehearsals begin August 22nd in Rutland at the UU Church at the 117 West Street. The show goes up 8 weeks later on October 14-16 and October 21-23 at 7:30pm and 3pm on Sundays.

Auditions are from 2-4pm JULY 17th and JULY 24th at the UU Church by appointment only. Please email me directly for the script and rehearsal schedule. SIDES Provided at auditions. Please bring proof of vaccination and boosting.

ABOUT THE PLAY: Facing a personal crisis and taking a break from her marriage of twenty years, Haley has gone to Maine, connected with an old friend and started writing again. Her husband Charlie has already been questioning the realities of life, and Haley’s leaving finds him sharing his misery with Gabe, a man who can lend a sympathetic ear only up to a point. Gabe and Charlie go in search of Haley and some answers, but the answers are not quite what they expect.

ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT: Jeanne Beckwith’s plays have been performed all around this country and as far away as Dublin and Istanbul. She has had plays performed from San Diego to Boston including Chicago’sOtherworld Theatre’s “Paragon Festival,” The New Jersey Rep’s “Brut Festival,” and by “Turned to Flesh Productions” in New York City. She has been regularly performed by the Alpha New York Actors Theatre. Her play, “William Hazlitt and the Natural Correction” was part of the inaugural Stranger Play Festival in Burlington this past fall. The Actors Repertory Theatre of Vermont will be producing her full length play, The End of the World As We Know It in 2022. Her play, A War Story at the Rialto, is published by Playscripts, Inc.
