THE DROWSY CHAPERONE - Center Stage Jackson

Announcing Auditions for
The Drowsy Chaperone
March 5 and March 6, 2018

Center Stage Jackson is excited to announce auditions for its Main Stage production of The Drowsy Chaperone, Music & Lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, Book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar.

Auditions will be held on Monday March 5th and Tuesday March 6th from 6:30pm-9:00pm at Jackson's First Presbyterian Church,
743 W. Michigan Avenue, Jackson, Michigan 49201. Parking and entrance are located at the rear of the church.

This production is under the direction of Gerry Blanchard, with music direction by Larry Sumner, Jr., choreography by Aimie Smith, and costumes by Ellen Yoakam.

“With the houselights down, a man in a chair appears on stage and puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life and The Drowsy Chaperone begins as the man in the chair looks on. Mix in two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and an intoxicated chaperone, and you have the ingredients for an evening of madcap delight.”

Performances of The Drowsy Chaperone will be held June 8-10 and 15-17, 2018 at Jackson College’s Potter Center,
2111 Emmons Rd. Jackson, Michigan 49201. Fridayand Saturday performances will begin at 7:30pm, Sunday performances will begin at 3:00pm.

Actors should prepare approximately one minute of music to sing and should bring either sheet music or a background track (an accompanist as well as a CD player with aux cord will be provided). Actors should wear comfortable clothing for choreography and bring their calendar of obligations for April 10 through June 18. Callbacks, if necessary, will be held on March 7th at the same time and location.
