CLEAR SPACE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS
The Clear Space Theatre Company of Rehoboth Beach has announced
auditions for their holiday production, “She Loves Me.” The 1963 musical was written
by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick (who would go on to write “Fiddler on the Roof”
the next year) and starred Barbara Cook and Jack Cassidy. The plot to the show was
the basis for the James Stewart film “The Shop Around the Corner”, and went on to
become the subject of later films like the Judy Garland / Van Johnson film “In the
Good Old Summertime” and “You’ve Got Mail” with Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan. The
Clear Space production will be directed by David Button, choreographed by
Shondelle Graulich with musical direction by Melanie Bradley.
Auditions for the show are Saturday, September 20th at 10am, and actors are
encouraged to arrive promptly. Characters in the show range in age from 18-60 with
one role for a 16-year-old male and openings in the chorus. Those who wish to
audition are asked to prepare 32-bars of a musical theatre song, bring sheet music in
the correct key (an accompanist is provided) and be prepared to dance.
