HAIRSPRAY - AfterWork Theater Project Non Equity Auditions

AfterWork Theater - an NYC-based recreational theater company for busy working professionals seeking a fun creative outlet - is launching our fifth season. This time we're doing Hairspray and we want you to be in it! No audition required. We're looking for people of every race, size, age, etc. to join us as we rehearse and perform a fully-staged production for friends and family.

Hairspray is set in 1962 Baltimore, Maryland and follows a lovable plus-size teenager as she pursues stardom as a dancer on a local TV show and unites with her African-American friends against racial segregation. Winner of 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Hairspray is a family-friendly musical piled high with laughter, romance, and downtown rhythm and blues.
