EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES - The Compnay Theatre and Steel river Playhouse Non Equity Auditions

The Emperor's New Clothes - A Musical Premiering April 7-15 at Steel River Playhouse by The Company Theatre -This Theatre for Young Audiences Production is a fanciful musical with 5 roles ranging in ages 15 – 40. Learn more about the production here.

We are seeking musicians as well as performers. This production will pay a stipend.

Rehearsals will be January 29 – March 29 approx. 2 times per week, and tech week will be in the evenings from April 2-6.

Performances are April 7, 8, 14 and 15 at 2 pm. There will also be a few daytime weekday performances for elementary schools that will be traveling to the theatre. This is a wonderful outreach program that services under privileged kids from the local area. There will be approx. 4-6 daytime during the week performances.

Audition:
Thursday, January 11th at 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm
Sunday, January 14th at 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm

Combined should not be more then 5 minutes in length

Arno
The palace’s scrub boy who is outgoing and impulsive. He says the first thing that comes into his head.

Swindler
Makes the “Magic” clothes for Marcus. He is a conniving, imaginative showman extremely skilled at his art of trickery.

Deena
The Royal Clothesmaker who is motherly, level-headed, bossy and nervous.
Gender: Female
Age: 30 to 40

William
The Royal Advisor who is fatherly, and a little henpecked. He tries to be authoritative and responsible, but generally fails.

The Emperor and our story’s protagonist. He has a powerful imagination and is very intelligent, however he lacks self-confidence.
