Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Isaac Theatre Royal

Showbiz Christchurch is thrilled to announce tickets on sale for the New Zealand premiere of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – The Musical, coming to the Isaac Theatre Royal from April 23 to May 9, 2026.

Packed with pure imagination, this spectacular stage adaptation of Dahl’s classic story features songs from the much-loved 1971 film — Pure Imagination, The Candy Man and I’ve Got a Golden Ticket — alongside dazzling new music by the Grammy, Tony and Olivier Award-winning team behind Hairspray.

Directed by Stephen Robertson, with musical direction by Richard Marrett and co-choreography by Glen Harris and Gemma Kearney, this production promises to be a feast for the senses — combining dazzling design, showstopping performances, and heartwarming storytelling.

Opening the same weekend as Super Round 2026, when Christchurch will host the first major event at the brand-new One New Zealand Stadium, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory joins a city-wide celebration of sport, culture and entertainment — a perfect pairing of scrums and scrumdiddlyumptious delights.
