Tickets Now On Sale for Tennessee Williams Literary Festival 2010
We are so pleased to announce that our 2010 schedule has been finalized. Our box office is now open and ready to take your ticket orders. We look forward to having you celebrate the Festival with us in the French Quarter. The Festival will take place from March 24 to 28, 2010.
This year's Festival kicks off Wednesday night (March 24) with "Jewels After Dark: New York and New Orleans Honor a Great American Poet," which will toast Tennessee Williams' recent induction to the American Poets' Corner in New York's Cathedral of St. John the Divine. Thursday morning sees the start of our Master Class sessions. You might consider signing up for talks on all matters literary with the likes of Eric Overmyer, N.M. Kelby and John Dufresne. After class is out, head to "Williams In His Own Words," our opening night gala, featuring Broadway luminaries Marian Seldes, John Patrick Shanley and Lois Smith. An alternative option for Thursday evening is Literary Late Night. Laugh out loud with improv comedy and cheer for contestants in a poetry slam competition hosted by New Orleans' own Chuck Perkins.
Friday's highlights include sure-to-be engaging conversations with John Patrick Shanley, Dave Eggers, Michael Lewis and Cokie Roberts, a production of Tennessee Williams' The Night of the Iguana and for the foodies, a chat with John Mariani. The weekend will also feature Edward Albee, James Carville, Winston Groom, Jill Conner Browne, and David Simon, amongst many others. There'll be poetry, burlesque, author appearances, book signings, music, food and of course, our Stanley and Stella Shouting Contest.
