The recently-formed Tennessee Williams Theatre Company of New Orleans will present Small Craft Warnings, an introspective and comedic play written late in Tennessee Williams' life. The raucous yet touching production stars LaKesha Glover (as Leona), James Wright (as Monk), Robert Alan Mitchell (as Doc), Bob Edes, Jr. (as Quentin), Natalie Jones (as Violet), Jordan Kaplan (as Steve), Gavin Robinson (as Bobby), and Matt Madden (as Bill). It will be directed by TWTC Co-Artistic Director Augustin J Correro.

"It's very easy to stage this piece in an excessively sad and lonesome way and ignore the comedy," says TWTC Co-Artistic Director Nick Shackleford, "But already the cast and team are filling the rehearsal room with laughter and unique, powerful discoveries. We couldn't have assembled a more generous group of actors."

Small Craft takes place on a foggy night at a roadside watering hole along the Pacific coast. When conditions become too dangerous for travel, the patrons of the bar are stuck with each other-and themselves. Strangers seek shelter, new and old feuds ignite, and nobody escapes this night totally unscathed. It's a show about human relations with no dressing or make-up: unafraid, unheroic, and raw. At times, the characters invite you into their inner workings with confessional speeches directly to the audience, sharing their deepest secrets and insecurities. It's a different style of Williams' writing. It's a character-driven masterwork.

"I'm thrilled that we get to present this in an intimate, in-the-round setting. These characters need to be comforted and held-and maybe sometimes held back from strangling one another. We are putting the audience right in the action, and they might want to share a drink with our roadside captives. Luckily, Mag's will be happy to serve you one!" says director Augustin J Correro.

Performances will take place Thursday & Fridays at 8:00p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 7:00pm, with a special Monday performance at 8:00pm on December 14th. The Tennessee Williams Theatre Company of New Orleans will be presenting Small Craft Warnings at Mag's 940 at 940 Elysian Fields Avenue in New Orleans (At North Rampart).
