Nimbus Dance presents Sum of Parts, performed at Judson Memorial Church as part of the West Village Chorale's This Land is Your Land concert. The program features a world premiere by Princess Grace Award-winning choreographer Houston Thomas, set to choral music by Saunder Choi and performed live by the West Village Chorale, drawing on Emma Lazarus' The New Colossus and poems carved into the walls of Angel Island Immigration Station by detained Chinese immigrants. Also featured are Pedro Ruiz's Heart & Flesh, a duet exploring migration and belonging, and Yoshito Sakuraba's Avenoir, as well as Through the Golden Door, a large-scale dance-theater work directed by Nimbus Artistic Director Samuel Pott, developed in collaboration with New York Times bestselling author Helene Stapinski.
