For those who don't want to wait for Winter Classes to start, the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey is offering a Winter Mini-Session December 27-30, an accelerated four-day art class for adults and kids to be held over the winter holiday break. Students can sample an art class while fast- tracking their skills, receiving a month's worth of classes in just a week.

Adult students can learn the basics of wheel thrown pottery in a Crash Course Ceramics! Wheel Throwing mini-session and will also receive a $15.00 certificate to Glazes Galore in February 2017. Other mini-sessions offered include Abstract Painting and Oil Painting with Cold Wax. Teens can create a Time Capsule or learn time-lapse photography with an Intro to Photography and Video or explore Art as Social Practice, a fun and creative way teens can build problem-solving skills and impact their own communities through art. For kids there will be a Creative Kids Op Art session and more!

The Art Center also offers several hands-on workshops for all ages throughout the season and other one and two-day workshops, also offered on weekends. Winter Class registration is now open for classes beginning January 9, 2017.

There are five ways to register for classes and workshops: online at www.artcenternj.org; by phone (908) 273-9121 or fax (908) 273-1457; in person at the Art Center; or by mail to 68 Elm Street, Summit, NJ 07901.
