Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, continues its season of Theater for Young Audience productions with the world premiere of The Rainbow Fish, for audiences age 3 and up.

Created by The Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia, The Rainbow Fish is based on the beloved illustrated book for children B. Marcus Pfister. The lead sponsor is Monmouth University and the production sponsor is Rumson Country Day School.

With his silver scales and heart of gold, The Rainbow Fish will delight even the youngest children in this adaptation of the award-winning book about a beautiful fish who learns to share his most prized possession.

Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia brings The Rainbow Fish to life with enchanting puppetry in this world-premiere production. A Q&A with the cast will follow every performance.

"The Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia is well-known throughout the world of Theater for Young Audiences for their brilliant storytelling and clever puppetry," says Artistic Director John Dias. "Two River audiences absolutely loved their production of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Eric Carle Favorites in 2014. We are honored that they chose to launch the world premiere of The Rainbow Fish in Red Bank this season."

Tickets are $25. Tickets are available from tworivertheater.org or 732.345.1400 for the following performances: Friday, December 15 at 10am and 12pm (student matinees, tickets are $15); Saturday, December 16 at 11am, 1:30pm and 4pm (relaxed performance); Sunday, December 17 at 11am, 1:30pm and 4pm (Día de la Familia); and Monday, December 18 at 10am and 12pm (student matinees, tickets are $15).
