The Sieminski Theater Receives $5,000 Grant from Somerset County Board of Commissioners

The Sieminski Theater has received a $5,000 grant from the Somerset County Board of Commissioners as part of its Local Arts Program (LAP).
The LAP grant – made possible by funds from the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts – provides local arts organizations funds to support operating expenses, event funding and project development.
The grant will go toward expanding programming and access at the Sieminski Theater, while establishing it as a co-presenting house developing original works.
“Becoming a co-producing house is a milestone for the Sieminski Theater,” says Patricia Yannotta, Executive Director of Sieminski Theater. “Since our opening in 2019, more people have come to the theater, forming a true community. Being involved in the entire production process opens the door for even more collaboration opportunities.”
“This grant will help us fulfill our mission to create opportunities for all ages to learn, explore and benefit from all aspects of theater arts,” says Scott Hart, Theater & Programming Manager at Sieminski Theater. “We aim to keep the theater arts alive and highly accessible to all.”
In partnership with The Actors Studio of New Jersey, which aims to nurture local talent and expanding performing arts in the state, the Sieminski Theater will host a series of educational workshops focused on the performance production process, which will be open to the public.
Hart and Yannotta will be honored with a ceremonial presentation at the Somerset County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, April 28.
