South Jersey Native Jeff Coon to Star in Eagle Theatre's CATCH ME IF YOU CAN

By:

South Jersey native Jeff Coon returns home to star as FBI Agent Carl Hanratty in the Eagle Theatre's upcoming Professional Regional Area Premiere of Catch Me If You Can, opening January 23. Mr. Coon is a Barrymore Award Winning actor and has appeared at The Walnut Street Theatre, Arden Theatre and Philadelphia Theatre Company. He is also the Co-creator/Producer of "The Summer Club," a night club show featuring standards and a 17-piece Big Band.

Catch Me If You Can is a vibrant, multimedia adventure that follows a cunning runaway living the high life, evading the FBI, and traveling the world in search of what he left behind. The Eagle's production takes a provocative twist as it is presented as a televised variety hour, incorporating a live multi-camera shoot that will be displayed on televisions interspersed throughout the set. It is being billed as "a live theatrical production and a cinematic journey."

When asked to elaborate on the Eagle's unique take, Coon replied, "No one is going to be bored when they come to see this show! The ability of a camera to focus on a close up of a face or a prop to heighten the audience's attention in a way that can't always been done in live theatre is a really exciting aspect of the multimedia in this production. The Eagle has worked for a long time on realizing their multimedia vision for this show and I think it's going to pay off extremely well." With regard to following Academy Award Winning Actor Tom Hanks he noted, "I want to find my own version of Hanratty which involves research and bringing my own life and experiences to the role. I can't wait to share this story with audiences."

The Eagle Theatre has also recently installed elevated riser seating to provide prime viewing and a greater theatrical experience. The unveiling of this addition will take place throughout the run of Catch Me If You Can. Eagle Theatre boasts a free double parking lot, an on-site Wine Lounge and is located within walking distance of several award-winning boutiques and acclaimed dining destinations.

Catch Me If You Can runs January 23 - February 21, with performances January 23, 24, 29*, 30, 31, February 5*, 6, 7, 12*, 13, 14, 18, 19+, 20, 21 @ 8PM and January 25, February 1, 8, 15 @ 3PM.
