You don't have to venture far from the Garden State to enjoy some of the best theatre and music offerred in the metropolitan area. We have some suggestions that will help you create some special summer memories. Gather your group and visit these top-notch venues.

The Shakespeare Theatre of NJ (Madison) The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey is one of the great classic theaters in the Northeast. They will be presenting plays at the F.M. Kirby Theatre located on the campus of Drew University in Madison and on the Outdoor Stage, located on the campus of St. Elizabeth in Convent Station. Plan to see Coriolanus from July 6 to July 24 and Exit the King from August 10 to August 28 at the F.M. Kirby Theatre. On the Outdoor Stage, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged and revised) will be presented from June 22 to July 31. Visit: http://www.shakespearenj.org.

Princeton Summer Theatre (Princeton) Housed in Hamilton Murray Theatre on the campus of Princeton University, you can see great works of theatre produced by the stars of tomorrow. This summer's shows include: Assassins, God of Carnage, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Fool for Love and The Owl and the Pussycat. Visit: http://www.princetonsummertheater.org/.

New Jersey Repertory Company (Long Branch) The Company is presenting several World Premiere shows this summer. STRUCK will be onstage from June 30th to July 31st. IAGO will be presented from August 25th through September 25th. For more information, visit http://www.njrep.org/.

Two River Theater (Red Bank) Two River Theater will be presenting their annual "Crossing Borders" play reading festival in August. For more information, visit the theater's web site at http://tworivertheater.org/.

The Stone Pony (Asbury Park) This iconic musical venue comes alive in the summer. Upcoming acts include Indigo Girls on June 22nd, Awolnation on June 25th, Jason Mraz on June 29th, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes on July 3rd, Gin Blossoms on July 12th and many more exciting musical acts throughout the summer. UCPAC (Rahway) Union County Performing Arts Center has a full line up of performances this summer that includes "The Skivvies" on June 24th, "Almost Queen and Unforgettable Fire" on July 2nd, "Venus in Fur" by Fearless Productions from July 8th to July 17th and much more.
