New Brunswick Performing Arts Center to Break Ground on $170 Million, 23-Story Project

The New Brunswick Performing Arts Center project, a public-private collaboration among New Brunswick Development Corporation (Devco), the City of New Brunswick, Middlesex County, New Jersey Economic Development Authority, New Brunswick Cultural Center, Rutgers University, Pennrose Properties, and New Brunswick Parking Authority, along with 11 other groups and organizations, will host a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 3:00 p.m.
The New Brunswick Performing Arts Center Groundbreaking Ceremony will feature: The Hon. James M. Cahill, Mayor, City of New Brunswick; Dr. Robert L. Barchi, President, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey; The Hon. Stephen M. Sweeney, President, New Jersey State Senate; The Hon. Ronald G. Rios, Director, Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders; and Christopher J. Paladino, President, New Brunswick Development Corporation.
Regarded as one of the most significant urban initiatives in New Jersey, the $170 million, 450,000 square-foot redevelopment project will comprise two cutting-Edge Theaters, three rehearsal studios, academic and office space, as well as a 207-unit residential apartment tower and a 344-space structured parking garage. The project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2019.
