NJTV, New Jersey's public television network, is ready for a trip to the Jersey shore, heading to Asbury Park for its next stop in its In Your Neighborhood initiative road tour on Wednesday, August 30th, providing viewers with a full evening of live and special local programming, including a live broadcast from around the Boardwalk and beyond. Combining news, local programming and community engagement events across its on-air and digital platforms, NJTV has been showcasing some of the Garden State's most dynamic places this year.

"Asbury Park in the summer is an iconic New Jersey destination and an ideal location for our next In Your Neighborhood visit," said NJTV General Manager John Servidio. "This city has been evolving and has so many stories to tell, from business development and education to its arts and music legacy and more. We're excited to present its many facets to the state."

NJTV's In Your Neighborhood: Asbury Park kicks off with a special, live edition of NJTV News with Mary Alice Williams at 5:30pm from atop the Asbury Hotel, followed by a live In Your Neighborhood: Asbury Park Special from the Anchor's Bend Beach Stage at 6:00pm. The live broadcasts will be followed by a full night of Asbury-centric programming, including One-On-One with Steve Adubato, State of the Arts, Here's The Story and Driving Jersey. The full evening broadcast line-up will be as follows:

5:30pm NJTV News with Mary Alice Williams live from the Asbury Hotel
6:00pm NJTV In Your Neighborhood Special live from Anchor's Bend Beach Stage
7:00pm One-On-One with Steve Adubato: Asbury Park Special
7:30pm State of the Arts: Sunrise at Asbury Park
8:00pm Here's The Story: The Asbury
8:30pm Driving Jersey: Stone Pony
9:00pm Front and Center: Southside Johnny

The NJTV In Your Neighborhood Special will encore at 10pm that evening. The Special will also be live streamed and available live on Facebook.

In addition to the on-air broadcast, NJTV hosted a community forum in Asbury Park to dig deeper into the issues facing the community on August 23rd at the Holy Spirit Church. The topic: how economic disparity can affect community health and quality of life. ICYMI, watch the archived livestream here.

NJTV's Asbury Park community forum is part of Chasing the Dream: Poverty and Opportunity in America, supported by The JPB Foundation and Ford Foundation. The forum is presented in conjunction with the NJTV In Your Neighborhood: Asbury Park initiative, made possible by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation with additional support from New Jersey Natural Gas. NJTV's In Your Neighborhood is a state-wide broadcast and community engagement initiative that spotlights issues impacting communities throughout New Jersey. Its goal is to provide the entire state with an in-depth look at each city through the many perspectives of those who live, work and visit there.
NJTV will explore topics such as education, infrastructure, politics, commerce, health, arts, culture and more in each location. The initiative has stopped in Camdenand Trenton, with additional special newscasts from Union Township and the Hoboken Terminal. This fall, NJTV will visit New Brunswick.
