The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra announces changes to its roster of guest artists for the 2012–13 season. The NJSO welcomes Ukrainian pianist Serhiy Salov for performances of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 in Newark, Princeton and New Brunswick from October 25–28, replacing Dong-Hyek Lim. Salov has performed with major orchestras including the Montreal, Hallé, Tokyo and Berlin Symphonies; l'Orchestre National de Radio France, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, among others; he has garnered top prizes in international piano competitions.

Ann Hampton Callaway joins the NJSO for the Orchestra's first POPS program of the season-"Holidays with the NJSO"-December 15 in Newark and December 16 in New Brunswick. John Morris Russell, who led the NJSO in a classical program in March 2012, conducts the holiday program. Callaway-a prolific cabaret performer and songwriter well-known to Broadway audiences-takes center stage for a concert featuring holiday classics and pops standards. The December 16 performance is presented in collaboration with the State Theatre.

Soprano Joanna Mongiardo, who thrilled NJSO audiences in her appearance on the Orchestra's "A Salute to Gilbert & Sullivan" program last season, returns to the NJSO stage for arias by Verdi, Bellini and Donizetti on the Orchestra's "Mendelssohn's 'Italian'" program March 8–10 in Trenton, Red Bank and Englewood. Mongiardo replaces soprano Dísella Làrusdóttir.
