This spring and summer, New Jersey Performing Arts Center will give movie buffs the unique opportunity to view classic comedy and science-fiction films and hear stories and insight from the iconic actors behind them. The screenings in May, June and July take place at NJPAC in Newark in Prudential Hall and also at Paramount Theatre and Convention Hall in Asbury Park. NJPAC's most recent partnership with Madison Marquette continues to bring new and exciting programming to Asbury Park's Boardwalk, just in time for summer.
The bill includes legendary producer/director Mel Brooks looking back at the classic outer space spoof, "Spaceballs;" comedy legend John Cleese appearing for "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"; and Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner, hosting "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan." In addition, John Cusack presents the romantic comedy, "Say Anything;" and Cary Elwes talks about laugh-out-loud comedy, "The Princess Bride."
