NJPAC Presents An MLK Weekend Celebration With Performances By Cece Winans, Anthony Brown & JJ Hairston

New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents An MLK Weekend Celebration with performances by Cece Winans, Anthony Brown and JJ Hairston on Friday, January, 18, 2019 at 8 P.M.

Be inspired by the life and legacy of Dr. King at NJPAC's annual tribute, an all-star gospel celebration featuring Cece Winans, Anthony Brown & group therapy, and JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise.

This year's celebration will feature 12-time GRAMMY Award winner Cece Winans, one of the best-selling female gospel and R&B artists of all time. Winans has been inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and has sold in excess of 5 million albums in the U.S. alone. Her latest recording, 2017's Let Them Fall in Love, was described by Positively Gospel as "a vibrant, soul-stirring masterpiece."

Since the release of his self-titled, 2012 debut album and its smash hit single, "Testimony," singer, songwriter and arranger Anthony Brown has become one of the newest gospel stars on the scene. Along with his longtime ensemble, group therapy, Brown earned his first GRAMMY Award nomination for the 2015 album, Everyday Jesus, which also earned an unprecedented 10 Stellar Awards.

Songwriter and choir director JJ Hairston and his exuberant ensemble, Youthful Praise, earned a 2018 GRAMMY Award nomination for their acclaimed, traditional gospel LP, You Deserve It, which spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Gospel Airplay Chart. That acclaimed LP, the group's seventh best-seller, was also nominated for multiple Dove and Stellar awards.
