In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the beloved PEANUTS animated tale, A Charlie Brown Christmas, the animated special is being rebroadcast and the whole gang is in a new movie. To continue the party, Mystic Vision Players wants you to enjoy the experience LIVE at the Hamilton Stage in Rahway at the Union County Performing Arts Center

Celebrating 50 years of the iconic classic that has brought joy and a television watching tradition at the holidays for generations of fans, actors take the stage to recreate your favorite moments. This is truly an entertaining spectacle of song, dance and holiday spirit for the entire family whether you're 5 or 65!

In A Charlie Brown Christmas, Charlie Brown is upset by the commercialism he sees everywhere during the Christmas season. Lucy suggests that he direct the school Christmas pageant, and Charlie Brown accepts, but it proves to be an almost impossible task to lead this crew. When he tries to restore the proper spirit with a sad, little fir tree, Charlie Brown needs Linus' help to remind everyone of the true meaning of Christmas.

Keeping with the spirit of the holiday season, MVP will also be holding its second annual toy drive to support the YWCA Union County Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter's PROJECT NORTH POLE. Help families have a happy holiday season by donating new, unwrapped gifts for women, teens, and children. Large gift bags, tape, & wrapping paper are also welcomed.

The cast of A Charlie Brown Christmas includes a bevy of local talent: Claudio Venancio (Charlie Brown), Brandon Arias (Linus), Shauna Cutrone (Lucy), Evan Krug (Schroeder), Jenna Cormey (Sally), Melissa Kaban (Violet), Rachel Cordero (Frieda), Ericaa Boyea (Patty), Eloy Delgado (Shermy) and Aaron McMillan (Snoopy).

"A Charlie Brown Christmas" was executive-produced by Lee Mendelson and created and written by Charles M. Schulz. Bill Melendez is the producer and director, and Vince Guaraldi is the music composer.

65 years ago on October 2, 1950, the PEANUTS comic strip launched but who would have guessed the impact this rag-tag gang of kids would have around the world for decades to come. Peanuts reaches fans thousands of products, over 50 television specials, via social media and a syndicated comic strip available in all formats from traditional to digital.
