Marc Martel to Bring THE ULTIMATE QUEEN CELEBRATION to NJPAC Image

New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents an evening with Marc Martel. Get ready to rock with the greatest Freddie Mercury voice on the planet when The Ultimate Queen Celebration comes NJPAC with a concert that incorporates nearly two dozen of that classic rock band's greatest hits: "Fat Bottomed Girls," "Somebody to Love," "Bohemian Rhapsody," and many more.

Several years ago, two members of the original Queen - drummer Roger Taylor and guitarist Brian May - heard singer Marc Martel belt out a few notes of "Bohemian Rhapsody" as part of a contest, and they were astounded: Not only does Martel sound spot-on like Freddie Mercury, but he also embodies the heart and soul that the legendary rocker poured into every song. "It's really uncanny!" says Taylor. "That voice ... you listen, close your eyes, and you think it's Freddie!"

Now Martel brings his own tribute band to NJPAC for an explosive, one-night-only concert Queen fans will be talking about long after the lights go down. His Ultimate Queen Celebration is a highly theatrical, eye-popping production that incorporates 23 of the songs that Queen made famous: "We Will Rock You," "Radio Gaga," "We are the Champions," "Fat Bottomed Girls," "Another One Bites the Dust," "Somebody to Love," "Bohemian Rhapsody," "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," and many more. In a novel twist, the concert will also include a selection of songs that reflect Mercury's interest in musical styles beyond rock - including "Ave Maria" and the great operatic aria, "Nessun Dorma" - all performed by Martel as they might have been performed by Freddie Mercury.

Quarter Rock Press writes: "In the history of music, few voices have been as great as that of Freddie Mercury, but the Canadian singer Marc Martel seems to be his very reincarnation."

The concert is set for Friday, October 20, 2017 8:00 PM at Prudential Hall. Get your tickets now at NJPAC.org or 888.GO.NJPAC (888.466.5722).
