Luna Stage will offer up to two complimentary tickets to performances of the World Premiere of Roan @ The Gates by Christina Gorman for federal employees who have been furloughed or are working without pay during the government shutdown.

"The protagonist of our newest play, Roan, is an employee of the National Security Agency; if she were a real figure, she would currently be furloughed, along with 800,000 other government workers," says Artistic Director Ari Laura Kreith. "We believe in the power of art to bring people together in difficult times, and are offering free tickets to all government employees impacted by the current shutdown."

A cyber-espionage love story set in Washington D.C. and Russia, Roan @ The Gates explores what happens when personal lives collide with national security. Mel House plays the role of Roan, a data analyst for the NSA, and Aaliyah Habeeb is Roan's wife, Nat, a lawyer committed to human rights advocacy. The play, directed by Michelle Tattenbaum, has been described as "a beautiful and high-stakes adventure that illuminates the cost of secrecy."

"As a gesture of support and goodwill, we want to honor those in our community who work for our federal government and are struggling during this crisis," says Managing Director Miriam Gardin. "Bring a friend, bring a date, and get your mind off of your troubles for one night."

Federal employees may use code FEDFREE to get up to two advance tickets to any Preview or Thursday performance of Roan either online at LunaStage.org/Roan or by calling the box office at 973-395-5551. Pairs of tickets to any other performance will be available at the box office starting one hour before showtime. All ticket orders are subject to availability, and valid identification will be required to pick up tickets.

General Admission tickets to Roan @ The Gates are $16-39, and are available at LunaStage.org/Roan or by calling 973 395 5551. A limited number of premium Opening Night tickets are available for $59, including the post-show party with cast and creative team.
