Korean Cultural Summer Camp Proves to be a Hit at bergenPAC

By: Jul. 31, 2015

The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC located at 1 Depot Square in Englewood, New Jersey held its first ever Korean Summer Camp this week, July 28-31, 2015. This is the 6th Korean Cultural Services summer camp, and the first co-presented by The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC in Englewood, NJ. For more information about the program, email jrhee@bergenpac.org or June Rhee (201) 503-8328.

During the camp, the students were led by bi-lingual Korean speaking counselors and instructors. The theme of the camp was Green Gaeguri: The Little Frog who Croaked Backwards, based on a popular children's bedtime story. The story of a little green frog, or gaeguri, begins as a humorous tale of a mischief, but ends with a lasting moral of respecting one's elders along with an explanation as to why frogs cry when it rains. Children participated in this fun opportunity to learn about Korean culture through percussion, traditional dance, and Korean songs!

Great fun was had by all. Photo credit: The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC
