Jack & the Beanstalk Plays The Kelsey May 21
A classic tale of adventure and family loyalty will be retold in a delightful new musical coming to Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre. Kaleidoscope Theatre presents "Jack and the Beanstalk" Saturday, May 21 at 2 and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.
In this charming adaptation, Jack sells the family cow for a few beans, much to the chagrin of his poor, widowed mother. In response, she angrily tosses them into the garden. Overnight, the magical beans grow into a stalk that reaches the sky. Jack climbs it and discovers a strange land, where a cruel giant has amassed great treasures. Jack decides to steal some to help his destitute family. But at what price? Jack will look to the audience to help him defeat the giant and restore his mother's hopes for a brighter future.
